Pastor David A. Johnson II

Pastor David A. Johnson II is the Senior Pastor of the Kingdom Covenant Church in Detroit, MI. Pastor J, as he is affectionately known, is one of Detroit’s most gifted and sought-after voices, and a premier preaching personality. A third generation, Preacher/Teacher, Pastor J hails from a long legacy of ministry in his bloodline.

In May of 2025, Pastor J will celebrate 30 years of preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. His passion and personal mission are Community Impact, Spiritual Awareness, and Life-Style Stewardship with a commitment to the Spirit of Excellence. In November of 2017 Pastor J relaunched the Kingdom Covenant Church. 

Over the past 8 years, hundreds of families have united with KCC signifying its impact in the community, and undeniable momentum as a phenomenal ministry where love abides, and lives are changed on a weekly basis. Pastor J is a graduate and product of the American Baptist College where he served as Senior Class president in 1999 and is currently enrolled in the graduate program at the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University.
